"The Town Hall is Dead!"

The Town Hall is Dead.

Our friends at http://libertyden.com recently posted a blog entry, which is worth a read "what are town halls for?" http://libertyden.com/2009/08/what-are-town-halls-for/

This blog entry is the compilation of my comments to that blog.

Unfortunately the people's real townhall meetings are a thing of the past. They are being controlled as thugfests of loud agenda supporters (ACORN, SEIU, etc.,), and controlled to provide an audience filled with propaganda plants (Campaign Workers, Contributers, Advocacy Group Members).

The coming trend has become the constituent "meet-n-great" or telecom town hall, with little/short community notice. These are typically held in small venues, with no PA system, where there is a great deal of ambient noise making it hard for the gathered crowd to hear the conversation. A larger more passionate crowd only adds to the ability to meet with fewer individuals. This also makes it harder for the press to cover the event.

The citizen will be lucky to speak to their representative. Those who get the chance will get an answer tailored to them and the group will not have the benefit of hearing the conversation. Those who do not have the opportunity to speak to the representative will be asked to submit their questions and a phone number so that the representative can respond directly.

Control of the conversation will then be back in the hands of the corrupt agenda driven politician.
